I love to play in the clay.
 
Since 1980, I have been “playing in clay” in a variety of techniques, styles, and uniqueness. I am a combination of self-taught, co-op group and some schooling through the college system. (Although I do have a BSBA in management and an MEd in Educational Leadership but that is the boring stuff.)
I love to experiment with different techniques and glazes along with a variety of styles and designs to keep things fresh. Doing the same thing can keep an artist from growing both personally and in their art. I will do a series of designs such as my monsters’ collection or my sculpture collection to explore how far I can push myself in quality, technique, and perfection of the message within the art form.
I hope the people who buy my work feel the joy and fun of each piece and will enjoy having it in their home or give as a gift to a special someone.

  • Monsters with a Heart.

    These are a very unique type of monster. While they can be mischievous, they also have a heart for kindness, helpfulness and a love for listening. They will also steal your heart away.

    They are born into our lives as coffee mugs, jars, tea lights, garden stakes, and more.

     

    The process of birth.

    They are thrown on the pottery wheel from stoneware clay, then sculpted in to their own personalities and attitudes. After the first firing they choose what colors, they would like to be painted and fired again.  Now if they choose, they may have embellishments as part of who they are, and are ready for a home.

    Microwave safe, for those without metal embellishments
    Suitable for hot and cold drinks.
    Not recommended for freezing
    Not recommended for direct flame or stovetop. All pieces are glazed with lead-free glaze & high-fired for long-lasting strength and durability.
